COVID-19 Enhanced Procedures

At Skin Deep Laser Medspa, the safety and wellbeing of our patients is our top priority. Our team has amplified existing disinfecting and sanitization procedures in response to COVID-19, closely adhering to CDC recommendations and federal, state, and local regulations. Below are the enhanced protocols we’ve implemented:

OFFICE CONDITIONS

  • Established longer sanitization time between clients for thorough sterilization of treatment rooms.
  • Social distancing: fewer patients allowed in the office at one time, no waiting room access, and appointments spaced 15 minutes apart.
  • Protective equipment: masks required for all entrants; staff wear surgical masks, gloves, and face shields for facial procedures.
  • Removed shared items like magazines, books, and coffee stations.
  • Frequent disinfection of common and high-traffic areas.
  • Temperature checks: anyone with a temperature of 100°F or more will not be allowed to enter.

CLIENT SCREENING

Screening questions will be asked prior to scheduling, confirming, and entering the building:

  • Fever of 100.0 or greater?
  • Shortness of breath, sore throat, or dry cough?
  • Runny nose not due to allergies?
  • Muscle aches or sudden loss of smell/taste?
  • Contact with a known COVID-positive person?
  • Contact with someone under investigation for COVID?
  • Recent travel (last 21 days) inside or outside the U.S.?

If failed screening or fever is present: entry is not allowed, and the individual will be referred to a medical provider. Staff are also required to stay home and get medical clearance before returning to work.

MEDSPA VISITS

  • Limited number of patients in the Medspa at any time.
  • Appointments spaced 15 minutes apart for cleaning and distancing.
  • Clients feeling unwell must reschedule.
  • Late arrivals may be shortened or rescheduled due to cleaning protocols.
  • No waiting room access — clients must call upon arrival and wait in their vehicle.
  • Clients will be called in when ready.
  • Temperature checks and masks are mandatory upon entry.
  • No physical contact greetings (handshakes, hugs).
  • No guests or children allowed. Drivers must wait outside.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Use of EPA-registered disinfectants approved for COVID-19.
  • Routine disinfection of all treatment areas, especially high-touch surfaces.
  • Disinfection of treatment tables, headrests, bottles, equipment, and work surfaces.
  • Bathrooms fully disinfected after each use.
  • All door handles and the front desk wiped down after each contact.
  • End-of-day deep cleaning of floors, walls, displays, and shelves.
  • Regular air filter changes and use of air purifiers in common areas.

Hygiene, PPE & Prevention

  • Staff temperature checks and/or COVID tests before opening daily.
  • Symptomatic staff not allowed to work until cleared by a medical provider.
  • Mandatory hand sanitizer use upon entry for all clients and staff.
  • All estheticians and massage therapists wash hands for at least 20 seconds before and after treatments.
  • Estheticians wear gloves, masks, and face shields during treatments.
  • All staff must wear disposable masks at all times.

CONTACT TRACING

  • All COVID-19 positive cases reported to local health authorities.
  • Employee interviews conducted to determine close contacts.
  • Required information provided to public health if requested.
  • Staff may be required to isolate or stay home for safety and compliance.

EVENTS

  • Small events will continue with safety modifications.
  • Registered attendees scheduled 15 minutes apart with deposit required to hold spot.
  • Large group events (10+ people) are temporarily suspended.
  • Deposits are non-refundable but can be applied toward future spa services.
  • No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours forfeit deposit.
  • Late arrivals may have their time cut short due to cleaning needs.
  • Virtual events may be offered in the future.
  • All screening and sanitization protocols apply to events.
